Ski Club of International Journalists (SCIJ) has organised its 62nd general meeting in Spain’s ski resort Baqueira Beret located in the Catalonia region. 200 journalists from 33 countries including Turkey has gathered there both for skiing and exchanging views.
Baqueira Beret in the autonomous Catalan area of Spain is in fact the most famous ski resort in the country.
The Royal Spanish family is also having their vacations regularly in the resort in Aran Valley.
The resort consists of three sections: Beret, Baqueira and Bonaigua. Catering to all taste with its characteristic features and well kept ski slopes, the resort is a great destination for ski lovers.
Seeing Spanish national ski team trainings on the slopes of Baqueira Beret, one can understand that it has all the facilitations that a ski resort should have.
The resort offers 99 slopes which runs a total of 153 kilometers for skiing. The slopes begin from 1500 meters altitude up to 2510 meters altitude. Beret also offers 7 kilometers of pist for cross country.
The ski area has also nurserys, childrens play grounds and a ski school where one gondola operates to the area.
The food served at the restaurants and cafes are delicious and filling that even one plate is sufficient to one’s appetite because of the bigger portions served there.

The nearest village to the ski resort Vielha is also popular for shopping and dining at the tapas bars. You can taste various kinds of tapas, local wine and cavas at the bars.
